bde-div\">\n  \n  \n\t\n\n\n\n<div class=\"bde-rich-text-3379-319 bde-rich-text breakdance-rich-text-styles\">\n<p>Students of undergraduate study programs who complete their studies without preparing and defending a thesis complete the study program when they have successfully fulfilled all obligations prescribed by the study program.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, the student submits to the MFUM Secretariat, Taborska 8, Maribor, the\u00a0<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Vloga-za-ugotovitev-zakljucenega-dodiplomskega-studija.docx\">Application for confirmation of completed undergraduate studies<\/a>. The application must be accompanied by a certificate from the MFUM Library confirming that all obligations have been settled and a certificate confirming the return of the locker key, which the student obtains from the MFUM information desk.<\/p>\n<p>If the student also wishes to have additional information entered in the Diploma Supplement, they must complete the\u00a0<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Vloga-za-vpis-dodatnih-informacij-v-Prilogo-k-diplomi.docx\">Application for entering additional study-related information about the student<\/a>\u00a0and submit it together with the application for confirmation of completed undergraduate studies. Copies of supporting documents must also be enclosed with the application. The MFUM Senate decision on what is considered the student's additional achievements during their studies can be found\u00a0<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Priloga-k-diplomi_sklep-Senata-MF-UM.pdf\">here<\/a>\u00a0(the decision applies from October 1, 2015 onwards). The same certificate may be used only once for entry in the Diploma Supplement if it concerns a practical placement abroad and the exchange period does not exceed the compulsory weeks of practical training at MF UM (<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Priloga-k-diplomi-eno-potrdilo.pdf\">decision<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>On the basis of a prior system notification from the electronic records, the Student Affairs Office enables the student to complete the Study Satisfaction Survey in AIPS. Once the student has completed the survey, the application or notification from the electronic records on all obligations completed by the student is forwarded to the dean of the member faculty. Within 5 working days of receiving the application or notification from the office, the dean of the member faculty issues a decision on the successful completion of undergraduate studies, which is the basis for issuing the certificate of graduation.<\/p>\n<p>The certificate of graduation replaces the diploma until the diplomas are awarded.\u00a0<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Navodila-Zdravniske-zbornice-za-diplomante.pdf\">Instructions of the Medical Chamber of Slovenia regarding internship<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<\/div><div class=\"bde-accordion__content-wrapper-3379-125 bde-accordion__content-wrapper\">\n<h3 class=\"bde-accordion__title-tag\">\n  <button type=\"button\" class=\"bde-accordion__button\" id=\"accordion-button-125\" aria-controls=\"accordion-panel-125\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n     <span class=\"bde-accordion__title\" >GRADE IMPROVEMENT AFTER PASSING THE FINAL EXAM OR IMPROVING THE GRADE OF THE FINAL EXAM<br><\/span>\n     <span class=\"bde-accordion__icon bde-accordion__icon--default\"><\/span>\n     <span class=\"bde-accordion__icon bde-accordion__icon--active\"><\/span>\n  <\/button>\n<\/h3>\n\n<div role=\"region\" class=\"bde-accordion__panel\" id=\"accordion-panel-125\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-button-125\">\n    <div class=\"bde-accordion__panel-content\">\n        <div class=\"bde-rich-text-3379-321 bde-rich-text breakdance-rich-text-styles\">\n<p>Article 27 of the Rules on Knowledge Testing and Assessment at the University of Maribor No. A4\/2009-41 AG, concerning grade improvement in individual course units, stipulates that before completing their studies a student has the right to retake the exam in all course units already passed if they wish to improve the grade in a particular course unit.<\/p>\n<p>For study programs that end with a thesis, completion of studies means the thesis, whereas for undergraduate study programs that end without a final thesis, studies are completed with the last completed obligation (exam).<\/p>\n<p>A student therefore cannot improve the grade of the last course unit (exam), which is comparable to not being able to improve the grade of the thesis, but may lodge an objection against the grade obtained in the last course unit (exam), in this case, however, immediately or at the latest before the expiry of the deadline set for verifying the data on completion of studies in the official records.<\/p>\n<p>The above also applies when a student wishes to improve the grade in a course unit already passed before the last completed obligation, if they complete the last obligation before the exam date for the course unit in which they wish to improve the grade is announced.<\/p>\n<p>Students' rights must be equal, regardless of whether they complete their studies with a thesis or with the last completed obligation (exam).<\/p>\n<p>The above also applies if the student registered for grade improvement before completing the last obligation, if the exam date for the improvement falls after the date on which the last obligation was completed. A student therefore cannot improve a grade at or after the last completed course unit (exam), which is comparable to not being able to improve a grade at or after the thesis.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<\/div><div class=\"bde-accordion__content-wrapper-3379-322 bde-accordion__content-wrapper\">\n<h3 class=\"bde-accordion__title-tag\">\n  <button type=\"button\" class=\"bde-accordion__button\" id=\"accordion-button-322\" aria-controls=\"accordion-panel-322\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n     <span class=\"bde-accordion__title\" >RENOUNCING STUDENT STATUS AFTER GRADUATION<br><\/span>\n     <span class=\"bde-accordion__icon bde-accordion__icon--default\"><\/span>\n     <span class=\"bde-accordion__icon bde-accordion__icon--active\"><\/span>\n  <\/button>\n<\/h3>\n\n<div role=\"region\" class=\"bde-accordion__panel\" id=\"accordion-panel-322\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-button-322\">\n    <div class=\"bde-accordion__panel-content\">\n        <div class=\"bde-rich-text-3379-324 bde-rich-text breakdance-rich-text-styles\">\n<p>If a student has active student status in the year in which they graduate, after graduating from the integrated master's study program in General Medicine they retain student status until September 30 of the current academic year, in accordance with Article 70 of the Higher Education Act (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 32\/12 \u2013 official consolidated text, 40\/12 \u2013 ZUJF, 57\/12 \u2013 ZPCP-2D, 109\/12, 85\/14, 75\/16, 61\/17 \u2013 ZUP\u0160 and 65\/17).<\/p>\n<p>A student may renounce their status after graduation at any time by submitting a\u00a0<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Prosnja-za-odpoved-statusa-na-MFUM.docx\">request to renounce status at MF UM<\/a>\u00a0to the Student Affairs Office.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n  <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"bde-advanced-tabs-content-3379-193 bde-advanced-tabs-content\"><div tabindex=\"0\" role=\"tabpanel\" class=\"bde-tabs__panel js-panel\" id=\"\" aria-labelledby=\"\">\n  <div class=\"bde-tabs__panel-content\">\n    <div class=\"bde-accordion-3379-194 bde-accordion bde-accordion--bordered\"><div class=\"bde-accordion__content-wrapper-3379-195 bde-accordion__content-wrapper\">\n<h3 class=\"bde-accordion__title-tag\">\n  <button type=\"button\" class=\"bde-accordion__button\" id=\"accordion-button-195\" aria-controls=\"accordion-panel-195\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n     <span class=\"bde-accordion__title\" >SUBMISSION OF THE DOCTORAL DISSERTATION <br><\/span>\n     <span class=\"bde-accordion__icon bde-accordion__icon--default\"><\/span>\n     <span class=\"bde-accordion__icon bde-accordion__icon--active\"><\/span>\n  <\/button>\n<\/h3>\n\n<div role=\"region\" class=\"bde-accordion__panel\" id=\"accordion-panel-195\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-button-195\">\n    <div class=\"bde-accordion__panel-content\">\n        <div class=\"bde-rich-text-3379-325 bde-rich-text breakdance-rich-text-styles\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No later than four years from the day the UM Senate approved the topic of their doctoral dissertation, doctoral students must submit the completed doctoral dissertation to the MF UM Academic and Student Affairs Office, together with the report on the similarity check against other works and the signed statement of the supervisor (and co-supervisor) on the adequacy of the doctoral dissertation and of the publications of its findings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A doctoral student must have, <\/span><b>before submitting the doctoral dissertation, at least one publication from the doctoral work as first author. Relevant publications are scientific articles published in journals with a JCR impact factor that rank in the top three quartiles by impact factor, and patents with full examination.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The candidate prepares the doctoral dissertation in accordance with the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.um.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Pravilnik-o-doktorskem-studiju-na-Univerzi-v-Mariboru-stev.-012-2018-1-uradno-precisceno-besedilo-UPB1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rules on Doctoral Studies at UM<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as amended. The form of the doctoral dissertation is prescribed in <\/span><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Priloga_5_Oblika_doktorske_disertacije.docx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Annex 5<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the aforementioned rules, taking into account the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.um.si\/CGP\/Splosno\/Strani\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">general UM corporate identity guidelines<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The candidate must deliver the report on the similarity check against other works to the MF UM Academic and Student Affairs Office together with the submission of the doctoral dissertation proposal. <\/span><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Navodila_o_pripravi_in_oddaji_elektronske_21.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instructions on preparing and submitting electronic final theses and on checking the similarity of a final thesis with other works<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The candidate submits the completed doctoral dissertation proposal to the MF UM Academic and Student Affairs Office (as a rule in 4 softbound copies, or 5 copies if the candidate has a co-supervisor). At the end of the doctoral dissertation proposal, the candidate also adds <\/span><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Priloga_4.docx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Annex 4<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 the doctoral student's statement on authorship and identity of the printed and electronic versions of the doctoral dissertation.
